HOUSTON (ICIS)--INEOS Styrenics was taking down its 455,000 tonne/year styrene plant in Sarnia, Ontario, for two weeks because of unplanned mechanical issues, the company said on Thursday.

The company also said it was restarting its 485,000 tonne/year Texas City styrene plant in Texas to cover production lost from Sarnia.

The company took the Texas City plant down in late July because of slow demand and poor economics.
