SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Kuwait’s Petrochemical Industries Company (PIC) is planning a three-week turnaround from 19 October at its 820,000 tonne/year paraxylene (PX) unit at Shuaiba because of a persistent mechanical glitch, a company source said on Wednesday.
The aromatics plant is running at a reduced operating rate of 80%, added the source.
The turnaround is not expected to affect PX supply in Asia because this is a scheduled shutdown, market sources said.
