US propylene output rises 4.3% year on year in Aug - consultant

LONDON (ICIS)--US propylene production in August totalled 1.034bn lb (469,000 tonnes), a 4.3% increase from 991m lb produced in the same month in 2010, consulting firm Jacobs Consultancy said on Thursday.

Propylene production in August rose by 2.6% compared with a revised 1.008bn lb in July, the group said in its monthly Hodson report.

US crackers operated at 94.3% of capacity in August, rising from 93.2% in July and from 93.0% in August 2010, the report showed.
