HOUSTON (ICIS)--Calumet Specialty Products has completed its acquisition of Murphy Oil’s Wisconsin refinery and associated assets, the US-based lube oils, solvents and waxes producer said on Monday.

Calumet said the total price was about $442m (€332m). This compares with the $475m that Calumet cited when it announced the deal in July.

The acquired refinery, at Superior, Wisconsin, has a throughput capacity of 45,000 bbl/day.

Calumet said the acquisition will provide greater scale, geographic diversity and development potential to its refining business, as its current total refining throughput capacity will increase by 50% to 135,000 bbl/day.

The Superior refinery produces gasoline, diesel, asphalt, bunker fuel and specialty petroleum products that are marketed in the US midwest and Canada.
