Dow opens Rio office to be closer to Brazil's energy industry

NEW YORK CITY (ICIS)--Dow Chemical has opened a new office in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, to be closer to the country’s growing oil and gas industry as well as take advantage of opportunities arising from upcoming sports events in the country, such as the Olympics, the company said on Tuesday.

“The new office will be crucial for the expansion of Dow’s businesses in the state, primarily in the oil and gas area,” said Pedro Suarez, president of Dow for Latin America. “We will be opening new relationship fronts and reinforcing the Company’s positioning as a provider of integrated and sustainable solutions to the industry.”

Dow made the announcement at its Investor Day in New York City.

The range of products designed for the country’s oil and gas sector includes sustainable and high performance solutions comprising all phases of the oil chain, “from the well to the gas station”, the company said.
