SHANGHAI (ICIS)--China’s Sinopec-Mitsubishi Polycarbonate plans to start up its 60,000 tonne/year polycarbonate (PC) plant in Beijing at the end of November, a source close to the company said on Monday.
“We completed the construction of the PC plant on 28 September before the one-week National Day holiday [during 1-7 October],” the source said in Mandarin.
The company has scheduled to start up the PC plant on 30 November, the source added.
The firm started test runs at its new 150,000 tonne/year bisphenol A (BPA) plant in the first half of September.
The BPA plant is located at the same site of Sinopec Beijing Yanshan Petrochemical’s complex the Fangshan district of Beijing, according to an earlier report from ICIS.
Sinopec-Mitsubishi Polycarbonate is a joint venture between Sinopec, Mitsubishi Chemical and Mitsubishi Engineering Plastics.
