SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Japan’s Toray Industries is ramping up the operating rates at its 100,000 tonne/year caprolactam (capro) unit in Tokai after a turnaround, a company source said on Wednesday.

The company restarted the unit early this week and is likely to reach 100% capacity at the plant by next week, the source said.

The producer shut the plant in the middle of September for about 3-4 weeks, the source added.

Other Japanese capro producers include Ube Industries, Sumitomo Chemical and Mitsubishi Chemical Corp.
