SHANGHAI (ICIS)--?xml:namespace>China’s Zhengzhou Commodity Exchange (ZCE) plans to launch methanol futures trading on 28 October, an industry source familiar with the matter said late on Wednesday.
The approval procedure has been done and now ZCE is waiting only for an announcement from the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC), the source added.
“The methanol futures launching may help some listed companies to boost profits, and spot methanol prices may also fluctuate when the futures trading launches,” said one industry source.
ZCE owns futures trading on wheat, sugar, cotton, purified terephthalic acid (PTA) and rapeseed oil.
ZCE was unavailable for comment.
