SINGAPORE (ICIS)--US-based technology provider Honeywell said on Thursday its subsidiary UOP will provide China’s Yantai Wanhua Polyurethanes with engineering services and technology to produce key petrochemicals for its two new units in China.
Yantai Wanhua will use UOP’s C3 Oleflex process technology to build a 750,000 tonne/year propylene unit and Butamer process technology to build a 565,000 tonne/year isobutene production unit, Honeywell said in a statement.
The new units at Yantai city in Shandong province are expected to be started up in 2013, it added.
Propylene is a raw material used in the polyurethane (PU) production process.
