SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Luoyang Jinda Petrochemical is planning to restart its 50,000 tonne/year D-series (de-aromatics) solvent oil plant at Luoyang in Henan province on 20 October, a company source said on Thursday.

The plant was shut down on 1 September for maintenance.

Prices of D-series solvent oils are expected to weaken further after the restart, which will help to increase supply amid sluggish demand, traders said.

Local D-series solvent oil prices have dropped by yuan (CNY) 200-300/tonne ($31-47/tonne) in the last four days, they added.

D80 prices fell to CNY9,300/tonne on 11 October, market sources said.

Luoyang Jinda Petrochemical is a major D-series solvent oil producer in China and produces D40, D70, D80, D95 and D100. Its total monthly output is 3,000-4,000 tonnes.

($1 = CNY6.36)
