SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Taiwan’s Nan Ya Plastics has produced on-spec butanediol (BDO) from its 60,000 tonne/year No 2 line in Mailiao over the weekend, a company source said on Monday.

Nan Ya Plastics restarted the BDO line on 9 October and started adding feedstock to the plant on 11 or 12 October, the source said.

The company is gradually ramping up the line's operating rate to 100% of its capacity, the source added.

Nan Ya Plastics is now able to offer spot BDO cargoes, according to the source.

The producer is offering bulk cargoes of BDO to the spot market at $3,500/tonne (€2,520/tonne) CFR (cost & freight) CMP (China Main Port), the source said.
