SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Taiwan’s China General Plastics Corp (CGPC) plans to bring on stream its new 170,000 tonne/year polyvinyl chloride (PVC) plant at Linyuan district in Kaohsiung in January 2012, a source close to the company said on Thursday.

The producer has completed test runs at the new facility, the source said.

CGPC currently operates a 180,000 tonne/year PVC plant at Toufen in Taiwan’s Miaoli County.

The company obtains its feedstock vinyl chloride monomer (VCM) from its subsidiary, Taiwan VCM.
