HOUSTON (ICIS)--Brazilian petrochemicals maker Braskem plans to shut down its Triunfo 2 cracker in the south of Brazil at the end of the month for planned maintenance, the company said on Thursday.
The 992m lb/year (450,000 tonne/year) unit will be off line for about 30 days, a spokesperson said.
Braskem has a second steam cracker at the site, Triunfo 1, with 1.5bn lb/year of capacity.
The company also has two crackers in Camacari – northeastern Brazil – with a combined 2.8bn lb/year of ethylene capacity.
