HOUSTON (ICIS)--Brazil-based Petrobras and Peru-based Petroperu are considering the development of a petrochemical complex in the city of Ilo in southern Peru, Petrobras said on Tuesday.
The companies did not say what the complex would produce.
A working group to be established by the two companies will study the projects, Petrobras added.
The plans were announced after the presidents of the two companies met in the Petrobras headquarters in Rio de Janeiro, Petrobras said.
At the meeting, Petrobras confirmed its commitment to pursue projects in Peru in collaboration with Petroperu, according to the companies.
The two presidents also discussed technology exchange programmes and ways to encourage exploration and production in Peru, Petrobras said.
