SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Taiwan’s Nan Ya Plastics restarted its 360,000 tonne/year No 2 monoethylene glycol (MEG) unit in Mailiao on 25 October, a company source said on Wednesday.

The producer is running the plant at 60-70% of its capacity and ramping up its operating rates, the source said.

The company shut the plant in early September for scheduled maintenance.

In addition, Nan Ya Plastics will restart its No 1 and No 3 MEG units, with a combined capacity of 720,000 tonnes/year, at the same site in early November and mid-November respectively, the source added.

The producer has four MEG units with a combined capacity of 1.8m tonnes/year.
