LONDON (ICIS)--K+S has begun construction work for a €360m ($500m) project to reduce salt water discharges from its potash sites in central ?xml:namespace>
K+S said the project would, by 2015, cut salt water discharges into the Werra and Weser rivers by half - to an average 7m cubic metres/year.
The work includes a range of projects and facility upgrades at K+S’ sites in Hattorf and Wintershall in Hessen state, and at Unterbeizbach in
The investment would ensure that the sites can continue to operate in an environmentally sustainable manner, the company added.
