LONDON (ICIS)--Canada's Sterling Resources and Hungary's MOL are interested in exploring for shale gas and other unconventional gases in Romania, the country's National Agency for Mineral Resources said on Thursday.
To date, Chevron Corp has obtained licences to begin exploring for shale gas in three blocks in Dobrogea, southeastern Romania, the agency said in an update on the shale gas outlook for the country.
Explorations may prove that Romania has very substantial shale gas resources, the agency added.
