China’s Shen Hua Chemical to restart SBR plant on 1 November

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Shen Hua Chemical Industrial plans to restart its 180,000 tonne/year styrene butadiene rubber (SBR) plant on 1 November after completing maintenance at the unit, a company source said on Friday.

The company, located at Nantong in China’s eastern Jiangsu province, shut down the SBR plant on 16 October, the source said.

The plant has three lines, the source said, but declined to provide the capacity breakdown.

Once the unit resumed operations, one line will produce non-oil SBR 1502, another will manufacture oil-extended SBR 1712, while the third line will produce oil-extended SBR 1723 or 1739, the source said.
