BUENOS AIRES (ICIS)--Bolivian state energy company YPFB plans to build an build an ethylene and polyethylene (PE) complex in the Tarija area of Bolivia, a company source said.
YPFB has opened a bidding process for the engineering study for the complex, the source said this week.
The facility would be constructed during 2012-2016.
The nameplate capacity of the facility would be determined by an engineering study, which will take into account the availability of raw materials such as natural gas, and the potential market for ethylene and PE.
The plan may be built in the Chaco area of Tarija in southern Bolivia.
The project is in line with the Bolivian government’s goal of industrialising local natural gas production.
