HOUSTON (ICIS)--Formula-based contract prices for October acrylonitrile (ACN) fell on Friday from September contract prices as a result of falling feedstock costs.

The October domestic contract price was assessed by ICIS at 101.69-105.80 cents/lb for domestic delivery and export free on board (FOB) prices of 85.28-88.00 cents/lb.

These contract prices compare with a September price range of 114.70-118.60 cents/lb for domestic delivery and 94.98-97.38 cents/lb export FOB.

The change in the contract prices were attributed to significant drops in propylene costs, which fell 14 cents/lb during October.

US spot ACN prices remained unchanged at $1,750-1,850/tonne.

Major US producers of ACN include Ascend Performance Materials, Cornerstone Chemicals and INEOS.
