HOUSTON (ICIS)--Four of Valero’s refineries will undergo turnarounds from January through March of 2012, the company said on Tuesday.
The maintenance list includes Valero’s 180,000 bbl/day Memphis refinery in Tennessee, its 88,000 bbl/day Houston refinery, its 78,000 bbl/day Wilmington refinery in California and its 205,000 bbl/day Norco refinery in St Charles, Louisiana.
The Memphis refinery will have a five-week turnaround of a crude unit in beginning in March.
In Houston, Valero will take down a fluid catalytic cracker (FCC) in February for seven weeks.
Valero’s Wilmington’s refinery will have a four-week turnaround of crude and coker units.
The St Charles refinery will have turnarounds at its of crude and coker units in February for 10 weeks.
For October 2011, Valero plans turnarounds of its crude and coker units for three weeks at its 142,000 bbl/day Corpus Christi refinery in Texas, and a turnaround of a crude and FCC unit at its 93,000 bbl/day Three Rivers refinery in Texas for six weeks.
Market sources said there has not been evidence that the October projects have occurred. Valero was in the market for naphtha for its Corpus Christi refinery, which could indicate the turnaround is soon, a market source said.
