PORTO ALEGRE, Brazil (ICIS)--Brazil-based Petrobras may double its share of Brazil's ethanol market by 2015, the company confirmed on Tuesday.

Petrobras may increase its production from 1.5m cubic metres of ethanol to 5.6m cubic metres in 2015, said Sergio Gabrielli, Petrobras president. He made his comments to a conference in Singapore.

Gabrielli's comments come as Brazil, normally an ethanol exporter, imported the biofuel this year.

Recently Brazil has been importing ethanol and other fuels as a growing number of people are buying automobiles.
