SINGAPORE (ICIS)--?xml:namespace>China’s Shanghai Sinopec Mitsui Chemicals (SSMC) shut its 120,000 tonne/year bisphenol A (BPA) unit at Caojing in Shanghai on 1 November for scheduled maintenance, a source close to the company said late on Tuesday.
The plant will remain off line for one week, the source added.
The shutdown is not anticipated to have a major impact on prices given prevailing weak market conditions, sources said.
