Brazil’s Bioenergy firm ETH starts new ethanol plant

SAO PAULO (ICIS)--Brazil’s bio energy firm ETH Bioenergia began operations at its new plant in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul, the company said on Friday.

ETH’s reais (R) 1bn ($575m, €414m) plant began operations on Thursday, the company said. The facility is the company’s eighth ethanol plant.

The unit has a crushing capacity of 3.8m tonnes of sugarcane per crop and the capacity to produce 360m litres of ethanol, according to ETH.

ETH is the sugar and ethanol arm of Brazilian conglomerate Odebrecht.
