US PE October contracts fall by 5 cents/lb for most
US October contract prices for polyethylene (PE) fell by 5 cents/lb ($110/tonne, €79/tonne) for most of the market, based on weak domestic demand and downward global pressure, sources said on Friday.

US TiO2 price hikes in 2012 will not destroy demand – Kronos
US titanium dioxide (TiO2) producer Kronos said on Thursday that price gains expected in the fourth quarter and throughout 2012 will not destroy North American demand for the white pigment.

US names China as top industrial espionage agent
The US intelligence community on Thursday officially named China and its government as the world’s “most active and persistent” industrial spies, responsible for an unprecedented onslaught of espionage that frequently targets US energy and petrochemical firms.

US TiO2 producer Kronos Q3 net income almost triples to $85.9m
Kronos Worldwide’s third-quarter net income almost tripled to $85.9m (€62.7m) year on year because of higher titanium dioxide (TiO2) selling prices and increased production volumes, the US producer said on Thursday.

US October ethylene settles at 54 cents/lb, down 0.50 cent/lb
US ethylene for October settled at 54 cents/lb ($1,190/tonne, €869/tonne), down from September's settlement of 54.50 cents/lb, market sources said on Wednesday.

US Huntsman’s adjusted Q3 net income jumps to $108m, sales up 24%
Huntsman’s third-quarter adjusted net income in 2011 rose to $108m (€79m), from $83m in the same period last year, due to an increase in sales, the US-based chemicals major said on Wednesday.

US Westlake Q3 net income up 8% at $67.9m on stronger sales
Westlake’s third-quarter net income grew by 8% year on year to $67.9m (€48.9m) on the back of strong sales, the US polyethylene (PE) and polyvinyl chloride (PVC) producer said on Tuesday. 

US Nov BD falls to $1.15/lb, 1st single settlement in 8 months
US butadiene (BD) contracts for November fell on average by 18% in the first single settlement for the US contract in eight months, market sources said on Monday.
