China’s Shandong Hongye to start Yuncheng adipic acid unit

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Shandong Hongye Chemical Industrial Group will start its 140,000 tonne/year adipic acid (ADA) plant at Yuncheng county in Shandong province early next year, a company source said on Tuesday.

Exact dates are unavailable, the source added.

The company has a 140,000 tonne/year adipic acid plant at Dongming county in Shandong province.

Major ADA producers in China include Shandong Bohui, Xinjiang Dushanzi Tianli High & Newtech, PetroChina Liaoyang Petrochemical and Shenma Pingdingshan.

ADA is used in the manufacturing of nylon 6,6 (polyamide 6,6), polyurethanes (PU), plasticisers, hexamethylene adipate, thermo PUs and resins for shoe soles.
