MOSCOW (ICIS)--Russian major petrochemical producer Nizhnekamskneftekhim (NKNKh) said on Wednesday its polymer production increased year on year in the first 10 months of 2011.
In January-October, NKNKh’s total output of high density polyethylene (HDPE) was up by 25% year on year, at 163,000 tonnes, the company said.
Polypropylene (PP) output increased by 6.5% year on year, at 175,000 tonnes, and polystyrene (PS) production reached 156,000 tonnes, or 2.5% up on the corresponding period in 2010.
NKNKh produced 118,450 tonnes of butyl rubber, a 6.5% rise year on year, it said.
The company, based in Tatarstan, Central Russia, produces more than half of Russia’s butyl rubber output, and nearly half of the country’s PS output.
