US propylene stocks up for eighth consecutive week

HOUSTON (ICIS)--US propylene inventories gained 2% to 3.786m bbl in the first week of November from the previous week, continuing the increase that began in mid-September, Energy Information Administration (EIA) data showed on Wednesday.

The increase took inventories to a 33-month high, surpassing 3.723m bbl in the week that ended on 23 January 2009.

EIA figures refer to non-fuel refinery-sourced propylene.

US refinery operating rates declined to 82.6% last week, snapping a two-week increase, according to the EIA.

Refiner-grade propylene (RGP) was at 47 cents/lb ($1,036/tonne, €756/tonne) on Wednesday.
