BONITA SPRINGS, Florida (ICIS)--This year will end strong for chemical distributors, said a major chemical distributor on Wednesday.
“From January to August, it was a very strong year, and the year will end really strong,” said Randy Velarde, president and founder of the US-based petrochemical and polymers distributor The Plaza Group.
And as long as there are no drastic global events, “We expect 2012 to be a good year as well,” said Velarde.
The Asian economies are projected to improve, and “China will be a driver in the world economy. China is still strong, and will stay strong,” the Plaza Group head said. “There is a high level of optimism in the industry.”
Velarde was speaking on the sidelines of the 40th Annual Meeting of the National Association of Chemical Distributors (NACD), taking place in Bonita Springs, Florida, ends on Thursday.
