HOUSTON (ICIS)--The contract price of benchmark US Tampa ammonia for all December shipments decreased 8% from November, a source close to the negotiations said on Friday.
The settlement between Yara and its customers brings the contract to $650/tonne (€481/tonne) CFR (cost and freight), down by $55/tonne from the $705/tonne November price.
Greater ammonia production and availability in Yuzhny, Ukraine, was cited as a rationale for the decrease in the Tampa price.
Restricted ammonia production in Trinidad and strong demand from the phosphates fertilizer sector limited the decrease, a source said.
