HOUSTON (ICIS)--LyondellBasell reported on Monday an emissions event at its Bayport polypropylene (PP) plant in Texas.
Elevated emissions of propylene were identified at the plant's XL Marley Cooling Tower, beginning at 8:00 Houston time (14:00 GMT) on Monday, according to a public filing with the Texas Commission in Environmental Quality (TCEQ).
The company is still trying to determine the source of the leak, the report said.
A company spokesman did not immediately return a phone call seeking comment.
LyondellBasell has a 720,000 tonne/year capacity PP unit at the site, according to ICIS plants and projects.
