Aromatics Oman to shut Sohar PX unit in January for 22-30 days

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Aromatics ?xml:namespace>Oman
will shut its Sohar-based paraxylene (PX) unit from 7 January for 22 to 30 days of scheduled maintenance, market sources said on Thursday.
The unit can produce up to 820,000 tonnes/year of PX, and mainly supplies to purified terephthalic acid (PTA) makers in India, southeast Asia and Taiwan.
Aromatics Oman will not be supplying any volumes for January through end-February next year and will only resume deliveries of contracted cargoes for March shipments, market sources said.
