SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Aromatics Oman will shut its Sohar-based paraxylene (PX) unit from 7 January for 22 to 30 days of scheduled maintenance, market sources said on Thursday.

The unit can produce up to 820,000 tonnes/year of PX, and mainly supplies to purified terephthalic acid (PTA) makers in India, southeast Asia and Taiwan.

Aromatics Oman will not be supplying any volumes for January through end-February next year and will only resume deliveries of contracted cargoes for March shipments, market sources said.
