LONDON (ICIS)--Polimeri Europa’s cracker at Dunkirk, France is in restart phase but not yet fully back on line following an unexpected shutdown last month, a company source said on Thursday.

The cracker had previously been expected to restart over the weekend of 19-20 November but this was delayed because additional checks were required.

A force majeure declaration on propylene and ethylene supplies at the site, which came into effect after the shutdown on 23 October, will be lifted at a later stage once operations are running well and some stocks are rebuilt, added the source.

Polimeri Europa’s derivative polyethylene (PE) production at Dunkirk, which was halted by the olefins force majeure, is currently in the process of coming back on stream.
