SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Hualu Hengsheng plans to start up its 160,000 tonne/year adipic acid facility in late December, a company source said on Friday.
The company began construction of the plant at Dezhou in Shandong province in July 2010. One of the plant’s 80,000 tonne/year lines has been finished, and is expected to begin on-spec production next month, while the other 80,000 tonne/year line is under construction, the source added.
The company manufactures other raw materials of polyurethane (PU), such as dimethyl formamide (DMF). It runs DMF plants at Dezhou with a total capacity of 230,000 tonnes/year.
Hualu Hengsheng is also constructing a 50,000 tonne/year plant in Dezhou to produce monoethylene glycol (MEG), which is another raw material of PU.
