HOUSTON (ICIS)--US ethylene production in October totalled 4.299bn lb (1.9m tonnes), a 0.5% increase from 4.276bn lb produced in the same month in 2010, consulting firm Jacobs Consultancy said on Wednesday.
Ethylene output in October also rose by 1.4% compared with 4.241bn lb in September, the group said in its monthly Hodson report.
However, measured on a daily rate, US ethylene production last month fell by 1.9% versus September, according to the report.
US crackers operated at 87.6% of capacity in October, down from 89.3% in September but up from 87.2% in October 2010, the report showed.
