US Q3 propylene output up by 0.9% year on year - NPRA

HOUSTON (ICIS)--US third-quarter propylene production was 8.10bn lb (3.67m tonnes), a 0.9% increase from 8.03bn lb one year earlier, according to data received by ICIS from the National Petrochemical & Refiners Association (NPRA) on Wednesday.

Propylene output in the third quarter climbed by 2% from 7.91bn lb in the second quarter of 2011, the group said.

The figures include production of refinery-sourced and co-product propylene.

US propylene inventories in the third quarter stood at 2.02bn lb, rising by 41% from 1.43bn lb in the second quarter, while soaring by 68% from 1.20bn lb in the same months one year earlier.

NPRA's quarterly data is based on voluntary reports.
