HOUSTON (ICIS)--US-based ConocoPhillips completed the start up of a coker and 50,000 bbl/day expansion at a refinery in Illinois, a company spokesman said on Thursday.
The $3.8bn (€2.8bn) project increased the refinery's crude capacity by 50,000/day, enhanced its ability to process heavy Canadian crude and improved its clean product yield by 5%, resulting in a 50,000 bbl/day increase in gasoline and distillate production capacity, said ConocoPhillips spokesman Rich Johnson.
The Wood River refinery is jointly owned by ConocoPhillips and Cenovus Energy and is operated by ConocoPhillips.
