Toray Plastics Malaysia to restart ABS lines next week

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Toray Plastics Malaysia plans to restart its two acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS) lines next week after maintenance, a company source said on Tuesday.

The company’s ABS plant in Penang state has a capacity of 330,000 tonnes/year, while the two lines under maintenance have a capacity of 55,000 tonnes/year each.

The lines were taken off line in early November.

The company also has a 70,000 tonne/year transparent ABS line at the plant.

Other ABS producers in Southeast Asia include IRPC and Styrolution in Thailand.
