Braskem invests $64m at olefins unit in Brazil

SAO PAULO (ICIS)--Brazil-based Braskem has invested Brazilian reais (R) 114m ($64m, €48m) to modernise its olefins unit at its basic petrochemicals plant in Rio Grande do Sul, the resin producer said on Tuesday.  

The investments improved safety and updated control and operation systems, Braskem said. 

The last modernisation project was six years ago, Braskem said.
