MELBOURNE (ICIS)--Thailand-based Indorama Ventures Ltd (IVL) plans to start commercial production at its expanded polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottle chip plant in China’s Guangdong province in late April 2012, a company source said on Tuesday.
The company is adding two lines totalling 300,000 tonnes to an existing 100,000 tonne/year line at Kaiping in the southern Guangdong province, which will boost the nameplate capacity of the plant to 400,000 tonnes/year.
Indorama is the world’s biggest PET producer with a global capacity of 3.2m tonnes.
