SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Drake & Scull Water and Power (DSWP) announced on Tuesday that it has secured a United Arab Emirates (UAE) dirhams (AED) 142m ($38.7m) construction contract for a mining grade ammonium nitrate plant at Ain Sukhna in Egypt.
The UAE-based company has entered into a strategic joint venture agreement with Hassan Allam Construction for the project, DSWP said in a statement.
The 1,060 tonne/day mining grade ammonium nitrate plant comprises a nitric acid unit and ammonium nitrate unit that are expected to be completed in April 2014, the statement said.
The plant will be operated by Egypt Hydrocarbon Corporation, it added.
Mining grade ammonium nitrate is used in the mining and construction industries.
