SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Tianjin Petrochemical Tiantai is planning to shut its 90,000 tonne/year solvent oil plant in Tianjin on 20 December for maintenance, a company source said on Wednesday.

The turnaround is scheduled to last 10 days, the source said.

The shutdown will reduce the local supply of No 6 and No 120 solvent oils by about 1,500 tonnes in December.

The decrease in supply is unlikely to boost the prices of the two products as demand remains weak, an industry source said.

Tianjin Petrochemical Tiantai mainly manufactures No 6 and No 120 solvent oils and normally produces 3,500 tonnes/month of both materials.
