SINGAPORE (ICIS)--PTT Global Chemical (PTTGC) shut its 616,000 tonne/year paraxylene (PX) unit in Map Ta Phut on 13 December because of a leak, according to industry sources and customers of the Thai aromatics maker on Wednesday.
“PTT shut the bigger PX line and may have to declare a force majeure (FM) for two to three weeks,” an industry source said.
The company operates a 560,000 tonne/year paraxylene unit at the same site.
A company source from PTTGC declined to comment when contacted by ICIS.
