The companies started building the first phase of the project on 28 November, according to the source, who added that the total investment for the project is yuan (CNY) 2bn ($315m).
The project has three phases of construction. The first phase comprises a 80,000 tonne/year fatty alcohol plant and a 120,000 tonne/year fatty alcohol-polyoxyethylene ether plant, to be brought on stream at the end of 2013, according to the source.
The second phase comprises a 120,000 tonne/year fatty alcohol polyoxyethylene ether sodium sulfate plant, which will be brought on stream at the end of 2014, the source added.
The third phase comprises a 80,000 fatty alcohol plant, a 120,000 tonne/year fatty alcohol-polyoxyethylene ether plant and a 120,000 tonne/year fatty alcohol polyoxyethylene ether sodium sulfate plant, which will be started up at the end of 2016, the source said.
