HOUSTON (ICIS)--Commercial vessel traffic on Texas waterways began moving again over the weekend as fog cleared, the US Coast Guard said on Monday.

Dozens of vessels had backed up on Friday at the Houston Ship Channel because of a dense fog that settled over the upper Texas coast, but the fog lifted, and the backup was cleared out by Saturday, said petty officer Richard Brahm.

Vessel backups were also cleared on east Texas waterways near Beaumont and Port Arthur, Brahm said.
