SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Zhejiang Guxiandao Industrial Fibre started up its 200,000 tonne/year polyester unit at Shaoxing in Zhejiang on 19 December, a company source said on Tuesday.
The new unit is producing bright polyethylene terephthalate (PET) chips now, with an output of about 400 tonnes/day. The new unit will manufacture bright fully drawn yarn (FDY) when production is stable, the source added.
Guxiandao Industrial Fibre now has five production units with a total capacity of 610,000 tonnes/year. Its main products are polyester filament yarn (PFY), industrial-grade PFY as well as PET chips.
