Jacobs wins contract for Bulgaria sulphuric acid plant upgrade

LONDON (ICIS)--Jacobs has won a contract for two sulphuric acid coolers that will be installed at a sulphuric acid plant in Pirdop, Bulgaria, the US-based petrochemicals engineering firm said on Tuesday.

Jacobs won the contract from Aurubis, a large copper producer and recycler, it said.

Capacity and financial details were not disclosed.

According to information on its website, Aurubis produces sulphuric acid at plants in Pirdop, Bulgaria, and Hamburg, Germany. The company’s total sulphuric acid output is more than 2m tonnes/year.
