China’s Sinopec Luoyang achieves on-spec ethanol-blended gasoline

SHANGHAI (ICIS)--China’s Sinopec Luoyang has achieved on-spec ethanol-blended gasoline at its facility at Luoyang in Henan province, a source close to the company said on Wednesday.

Sinopec Luoyang Company started blending ethanol into high-octane rated gasoline at the end of November, the source said.

The producer successfully achieved 3,000 tonnes of on-spec product, which were supplied to the domestic market this week, the source added.

The initial price of ethanol-blended gasoline in the domestic Chinese market has been settled at yuan (CNY) 7.80/litre ($1.23/litre) for December.

Ethanol-blended gasoline is a form of clean energy that comprises 10% ethanol and 90% gasoline.
