US propylene output falls 2.5% year on year in November - consultant

HOUSTON (ICIS)--US propylene production in November totalled 906m lb (411,000 tonnes), a 2.5% drop from 929m lb produced in the same month in 2010, consulting firm Jacobs Consultancy said on Wednesday.

However, propylene production in November rose by 7.6% compared with 842m lb in October, the group said in its monthly Hodson report.

If measured on a daily rate, propylene production in the US last month climbed by 11.2% versus October, according to the report.

US crackers operated at 93% of capacity in November. The figure is up from 88.1% in October and 86.7% in November 2010, the report showed.
