HOUSTON (ICIS)--BASF said on Wednesday it will roll over North American butanediol (BDO) and derivatives prices for the first quarter of 2012.
Other North American BDO producers have yet to announce price decisions for the first quarter. One producer said it has not started discussions as of yet, and will likely wait until January before making any announcements.
Some BDO market participants have said they expect to see a decline for first-quarter contracts, based on weaker feedstock prices, specifically in propylene, and no problems in sourcing material.
Fourth-quarter North American BDO prices were settled within a range of 154-172 cents/lb ($3,395-3,792/tonne, €2.580-2,882/tonne), according to ICIS.
Major North American BDO producers include BASF, LyondellBasell and Ashland.
($1 = €0.76)
